Dianne Hornor has over 25 years experience as a teacher in 3 countries and 5 schools, Learning Center Coordinator, and School Consultant for educational programs.  Mrs. Hornor is married with three grown children and one grandchild.

Jackie Gibbs


Jackie Gibbs left a successful career in Human Resources to follow her passion to teach. She has been teaching since 2009. She loves running, assisting coaching basketball, singing, tutoring, playing the drums and learning the electric guitar, drawing and crafts, gardening, sports, genealogy, cooking, volunteering, being outside, shopping and playing with her two daughters and of course reading. She, as well as her girls, are native Texans and native Houstonians.  She is married and has two daughters (in middle school and college) and watches over the Gibbs’ zoo – two dogs, one bunny, one guinea pig and one fish.

Sharon Shea


Sharon Shea has 29 years in Education teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade, and as a homeschool tutor, including 8 years in Christian Education. She enjoys singing in her church’s choir, ringing in the bell choir, and playing in the orchestra.

Catherine Wright


Catherine Wright is passionate about teaching Science and Project-Based Learning. She has almost 20 years of experience in education and has served as a teacher, instructional coach, department chair, and testing coordinator. Catherine is married and has one daughter, who attends Elim.

Grace Tinoco


Grace Tinoco has many years experience working with those with physical and mental disabilities. She has been a live-in counselor, used behavior management programs for those who suffer with severe anxiety and depression, been a special education teacher both in the US and Venezuela, and worked as a special education paraprofessional. She loves volunteering with Hope Impacts, reaching out to the homeless.

Karen Hurst

Administrative Assistant

Karen Hurst is married and has three children, the youngest of whom is a student at Elim Christian School. She has been serving as a volunteer at the school since its inception, including as a member of the Board. She has recently joined the staff as a part-time administrative assistant.
