Who We Serve

A typical Elim student?

Is your child one of many who:

  • Struggles to fit into a typical educational setting?
  • Experiences failure, frustration and social exclusion at school?
  • Does not feel respected and valued?
  • Needs small group and individualized learning experiences?
  • Is aging out of a school where they have been successful?
  • Is longing for a place where they can be successful and fit in?
  • Needs a path forward to an independent and successful future?
  • Can’t find a place in area Christian schools due to their unique academic and/or developmental needs?
  • Just needs room to wiggle and space to breathe!

Many of our students came to us with those same struggles – but we know that each has unique strengths, too! It is our joy to watch them discover those for themselves in our program. Some examples are:

  • Sensing others’ emotional needs and finding a way to show them love.
  • Finding humor in the little things of life.
  • Taking things apart and putting them back together again.
  • Identifying right from wrong.
  • Being attentive to detail.
  • Being dissatisfied until it’s done well.
  • Researching and memorizing.
  • Gratitude for Jesus’ gift of salvation.
  • Helping others.
  • Being leaders, and so much more!

While our primary focus is to serve students who do not fit into a “one-size-fits-all” educational system, we seek to serve all types of learners – from challenged to typical to gifted.  We envision an environment where one student uses his or her strengths to help another overcome a weakness. Our current and former students have such diagnoses as ADHD, mild Autism, Expressive/Receptive Speech Delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Processing Delay, Cerebellar Ataxia, Dyslexia, hearing impairment and more.
